Create engaging experiences
Live interpretation – when visitors interact with an interpreter or watch a performance – is a powerful tool. Making History Connections helps sites create new interpretations or re-energize their current programs. With an eye to solid research, historical plausibility, and superior techniques, Making History Connections uses museum theatre and interactive performances, living history, guided tours, presentations, and hands-on activities to connect with visitors. Customized staff training and site-based coaching is also available.
Help understand visitors and audiences
When visitors come to museums and sites, they bring along knowledge, opinions, motivations, and needs. Making History Connections works with sites to develop strategies to analyze and understand their audiences and then listens to visitors through focus groups, questionnaires, and interviews. MHC knows that such approaches provide data to inform new interpretations and build lasting community relationships.
Share knowledge
Listening to audiences and creating meaningful interpretation is part of an ongoing process of learning. Making History Connections shares knowledge through conference sessions, workshops, online resources, and the opinions of thoughtful people.
